Q:Some construction companies close during the winter months – Does McDowell work all year?
A:Yes, we work 12 months out of the year; we really lose very few days to weather, actually, even for exterior installations. Temperature extremes really have very little effect on most products that we work with, so the only thing that really keeps us from working is a heavy rain or snowstorm, or daytime temperatures below 10°. We can actually replace your windows in the middle of winter, or install new siding on your home and start improving your heating bills right away – there’s very minimal open exposure time in the manner that the installations are done. If we install siding on your home when there is snow on the ground, we schedule a day when the snow melts to come back and make sure that we left your yard free of nails and scrap materials that may have fallen through when the snow melted.
